Pros:

• Everything in one pre-packaged product
• Effecient design
• Already employs SIPS, some passive solar, small footprint principles, etc.

Cons:

• Resale. How many other buyers will be interested?
• Effecient use of passive solar principles? How much is sacrificed for octoganal shape?
• Where is the mechanical closet (air exchanger, water heater, etc?)
• Cost? Not currently published on their website.

Perhaps it's a better idea than implementation?

Finnish Fireplaces

Highly effecient and ornamental at the same time. The firebox is placed within a chamber that forces the exhuast gasses to flow through winding channels of thermal mass. The heat is stored in the thermal mass and then radiated out even after the fire has stopped burning.

Expensive, but they can look very nice and they can potentially meet (or exceed?) effeciency numbers for even catalytic burn fireplaces.
